Support for LLDP (future proofing L2 Discovery)

A quick forum search for "lldp" indicated that no one else has requested this.

The Link Layer Discovery Protocol or LLDP is a vendor-neutral Layer 2 protocol that allows a network device to advertise its identity and capabilities on the local network. The protocol was formally ratified as IEEE standard 802.1AB-2005 in May 2005. It supersedes proprietary protocols like Cisco Discovery Protocol, Extreme Discovery Protocol and Nortel Discovery Protocol (also known as SONMP).

Currently Cisco's propietary CDP is the only L2 discovery protocol in use in NCM and since 12.35 or so Cisco's IOS is now supporting this IEEE standard.  It may be in the community's best interest to extend the reach and support for a wider and diverse set of networking devices.

I know Cisco (recent), Dell, Extreme, Juniper, Fore, and Force10 support LLDP.  There are probably a long list of other vendors.
