Hi
Has anyone else come across an issue with RTCN. I have it set-up to trigger the RTCN when the "Copy run start" trap is sent (maybe not the correct trap but it worked). However it is failing on some of our devices. I get the error message in Configuration Management saying "Connectivity issues discarding configuration (or configuration is too short).
If I run the manual Download from Configuration Management it works fine so I know the template is fine.
What I have found is the Copy Run Start on some of our bigger configs is taking so long to complete that as second session is unable to run the Show Run command.
If I perform the below from an SSH session:-
SWITCH09#copy run start
Destination filename [startup-config]?
Building configuration...
[OK]
R32CANNON09#
And from another ssh session perform the below I get the response:-
SWITCH09#sh run
Unable to get configuration. Try again later.
R32CANNON09#
The nightly back-ups work fine too, but the loss of the ability to run real time on some of our larger devices is causing auditing issues.
Is there a way to delay the execution of the RTCN program by about 20-30 seconds that would allow the Copy Run Start to complete and then successfully back-up the configs? This worked fine on older Solarwinds versions before we went to 11.5.2 and the behavior of the Cisco kit hasn't changed.
Any ideas or ways to get real time detection working properly across the board again?
