NCM Device Templates

Hi everyone,

I can't seem to find a relevant post/doc on this question, so I thought I'd ask here:

I have many different HP Procurve switch models.  I'm creating Device Templates in NCM for each model.  Every template is identical except for the OID.

Could I create a generic template for all, and just remove the last 2 or 3 digits of the OID so they all match and would that be successful?

Or should I err on the side of caution and create a device template for each and every different model/variant of every switch with a different OID #?
